This is one of those movies that is enjoyable, just as long as you remember to shut your brains off. The Belko Experiment isn’t an entirely unique or fresh take on the cliché story of putting people in a room and seeing who will kill to survive and who won’t. Battle Royale did it, The Hunger Games did it, and many more. This film is just another film on that list. Does that make it any less enjoyable? No, just as long as you just shut your brain off, otherwise you won’t enjoy this film at all.

The OfficeWell, this episode certainly got serious there.  It’s pretty evident that the writers are trying to create some tension, but the writers, well, they really need to work on how they do it.  Granted, there is no law against sitcom’s have serious moments, but with how this show has progressed over the seasons, this late in the game, it feels misplaced.  Steve Carrell was amazing at making serious moments funny, it was his job and he was brilliant at it.  But now, it’s like the spark is gone.  I understand that the actors want to grow out of the shell they’ve been in for so long as well, and the characters of Jim and Pam have always been the more serious characters, but Jim is a prankster and Pam is the artist, they are quirky in their own ways, seriousness aside.  But it just got too serious for me, if that makes any sense, and I love good drama, I love tension, it raises the stakes for a show.

What I think also bothers me is the fact that they are trying to replace their dynamic with Pete and Erin.  Granted they are cute together and Andy has annoyed me this season by being too selfish and nasty even though he’s a good manager, but they fact that the writers are using them to replace them is something I find irksome.  But that’s just me.  Thursdays @ 9PM EST on NBC.
